Homeschooling is a Family Affair!

One thing that I've learned since I've started homeschooling is that homeschooling works best when the whole family is involved. Recently, someone asked me to give them the steps that I use to get my year started and this is what I said:

1. Pray for help in planning your lessons and in implementing them, in talking to you spouse and other adult family members that may be directly involved so that you're all on the same page, and in helping your kids to understand what is expected of them and to have a joyful attitude toward school.
2. Sit down with your spouse and those other adult family members and come up with your plan for the year. Be willing to listen to their input also. (I know this is hard when you may have those that don't support your decision, so focus on the ones that do.)
3. Once the adults have gotten things together, present your united front to the kids. Let them know what is going to be expected of them and that everyone sitting in front of them is in on it!
4. Plan your work and work your plan. Never be afraid to go back to the drawing board.

Wishing everyone the absolute best in their endeavors!
