We love contests, it’s so much fun to enter with your very favorite piece of work and get a bit of feedback. So running a another photography contest just sounded like a great idea. But this one had a twist, it had to be a macro. A macro image is a closeup, and often changes a mundane object into something alien and exotic. Bugs become larger than life, and suddenly the details of a fish’s scale become clear. We had no end of fun looking at all the images, but Candy at Wooden Nickel Photography had to pick the winners.
The Grand Prize Winner is Amy Chabroux, for her image of the colored pencils. She’s receiving an 11×14 gallery wrapped canvas print of her image, valued at over $75.
Chloe Brown submitted a beautiful image of a caterpillar on a blade of grass and is the First Runner-Up. She won a $25 dollar Amazon gift card.
Second Runner-up goes to Jessica Ragsdale for her image of a little lobster. She is receiving a $15 Amazon gift card.
We want to say THANK YOU to every single homeschooler who entered. You did a FANTASTIC job, and there wasn’t a “bad” image in the entire set. Candy called me not long after she saw the entries, and asked me how she was supposed to pick a winner when each one was gorgeous.
